Academies Workshop by Winckworth Sherwood

With the Academies Act 2010 having now received Royal Assent, we expect to see a dramatic increase in the number of maintained schools considering becoming Academies. Schools classed as 'outstanding' following an Ofsted inspection are pre-approved to gain Academy status, but the policy objective is to see all schools converting at some point.

We are proud to have been able to support 5 schools who became new academies on 1st September. We also acted for the first multi academy trust to be established under the Academies Act 2010. The experience has been a challenging one for schools and the Department of Education.
