Freedom of Information Workshops – 2010
Thu 13 May 2010
3.30pm - 6.00pm
Winckworth Sherwood's information law team together with Tim Pitt-Payne QC of 11 KBW are launching a series of interactive workshops in the field of Freedom of Information law.
The Freedom of Information Act 2000 has become one of the favoured tools of journalists, contractors and other information seekers to elicit information from those bodies caught by the Act. Whether you are working in central or local government, the police, the education sector or other related offices or agencies, the increasing trend to fish for your information requires a solid understanding of the Act, including time limits and exemptions, to ensure compliance and to avoid damage to reputation.
Our workshops will focus on how the Act applies to the procurement process and commercial contracts within the public sector. They will be managed to enable an interactive approach encouraging questions and discussions.
Tim Pitt-Payne QC is a leading practitioner in Freedom of Information law and has appeared in numerous Information Tribunal and High Court cases. He will provide a rare insight into the practical application of Freedom of Information law from his expert and unique perspective.
This event is now fully booked, for more information please email firstname.lastname@example.org.
