Planning: Post Election Seminar

Thu 08 Jul 2010

3.30pm - 6.00pm

London

Prior to the election, the Conservative Party issued their Open Source Planning Green Paper setting out their proposals to re-shape a "broken" planning system. This paper put forward a number of radical reforms which met with mixed viewed. More recently the Government issued its Coalition Programme setting out "sweeping" reforms to create a Big Society. This seminar will explore the policies and bills being put forward by the new partnership government and the impact they will have on planning in the UK.

Our seminar will also examine those principles set out in the original Open Source Planning which are being retained and provide an update on where matters stand with S106 agreements and the Community Infrastructure Levy.

Neil Cameron QC is a leading practitioner in planning and will provide a detailed look at some of the more significant proposals for change being put forward including the abolition of regional spatial strategies.
