Winckworth Sherwood, Social Finance and the National Trust would like to invite you to the first national “Future Parks” conference on Thursday 20 October.

This landmark conference will provide Local Authorities with the opportunity to explore how your parks portfolio could be financed and managed in a way that preserves their natural capital and enhances their public benefit for future generations.

Click here to view the conference programme and please click here to register. Please note this conference is free of charge to attend.

Who should attend?
The conference is open to senior officers with executive responsibility for parks services. It will be an invaluable opportunity for them to work through the practical issues around service transformation, so that by the end of the day they will be inspired by the scope of opportunity and have a clear idea of the next steps to turn opportunity into reality.

What will the day look like?
Panel sessions will focus on the real-world experience of selected local authorities and smaller group ‘working sessions’ will enable a deeper focus around key legal, financial and engagement issues.

Speakers include:

  • Helen Ghosh, Director General, National Trust (confirmed)
  • Sir Bob Kerslake, President of the LGA and Former Permanent Secretary of the DCLG
  • Sara Lom, CEO Royal Parks Foundation (confirmed)
  • Simon O’Brien, Chair of Liverpool’s Strategic Green and Open Spaces Review Board (confirmed)
