STPCD 2014-15 – Implementing the Teachers’ 1% Pay Rise

Schools will shortly be reviewing their pay policies for 2014-15 following the issue of the new STPCD for 2014 on 8 August 2014. The new Document only gives the minimum and maximum of the pay ranges (shaded in the document below) and no longer sets out the values of any points as it is up to each maintained school (and those Academies and Independent Schools following the STPCD) to decide whether to have formal points within each pay range.

The 2014 EFA Handbook: Impact on Special Staff Severance Payments and Settlement Agreements

The EFA has issued its new Academies Financial Handbook for 2014 coming into effect on 1 September 2014. The document introduces significant changes to the regime allowing academy trust companies to pay special staff severance payments under £50,000. Special staff severance payments are those paid outside of normal contractual or statutory requirements.

Employment and HR Claims under the Risk Protection Arrangement for Academies

Today marks the start of the DfE’s Risk Protection Arrangement (RPA) for academies. The DfE will indemnify academies joining the RPA out of its own funds against a series of risks, in return for £25 per pupil. The RPA’s claims handling service is run by Gallagher Bassett. Today also marks the start of our Dismissal Green Light service.
