Barratt Homes to work on Trumpington Meadows project

Barratt Homes has been chosen as the developer for the Trumpington Meadows project in East Anglia.
The housebuilder will be responsible for working on the first phase of the scheme, which will ultimately lead to 1,200 new homes being built on the southern edge of Cambridge.
Barratt will commence work on the project early next year, reports Property Week.
The Homes and Communities Agency (HCA) has been among the bodies to back the Trumpington Meadows development, which is located 3.5km away from Cambridge city centre.
Last month, it was confirmed that the HCA would award the project a grant of more than £9.8 million, which will go towards creating affordable properties.
These will be a mixture of social rented and shared ownership houses and have been designed to meet modern environmental guidelines.
It is hoped the development, which will be neighboured by a country park, will be complete by 2013.
Jane Sewell, the partner at Winckworth Sherwood LLP who led the team for Barratt, commented: "It was very exciting to be involved in this major new project and the firm's experience in acting both for housebuilders and registered social landlords, coupled with the expertise of Barratt's land team, were invaluable."
