South-east England 'faces acute housing problems'

The south-east of England is facing some of the biggest housing problems in the country, a thinktank has stated.
According to the New Local Government Network (NLGN), the region has a particularly large shortage of available stock.
As a result, it believes the government could need to go further with its efforts to encourage councils to build more homes.
The coalition this week unveiled the New Homes Bonus scheme, which will see it match the council tax generated by every newly-built property for a six-year period.
However, NLGN said that further incentives may be needed to boost house building in areas such as the south-east, where the housing shortage is particularly "acute".
The thinktank added that it welcomes the coalition's decision to use a carrot rather than a stick to reward growth.
Speaking to BBC News earlier this week, housing minister Grant Shapps said the money handed to local authorities could be reinvested in projects such as new public services or town centre regeneration.
