The Schools include Watford Grammar School for Girls, Watford Grammar School for Boys and the Kemnal Academies Trust, the first multi academy trust to be established under the Act, which has converted Kemnal Technology College to academy status from 1st September. It is expected that at least four other schools will join the Trust shortly. The firm continues to advise a number of schools looking to convert in the next wave.
Helen Hyde, head teacher of Watford Grammar School for Girls and President of FASNA (Foundation and Aided School’s National Association), will be chairing a “Lessons Learned” conference to be hosted by Winckworth Sherwood on 1st October 2010.
Partner Andrea Squires, one of a 4 partner strong team dedicated to advising schools seeking to convert said, “We are proud to have been able to support these 5 schools. The experience has been a challenging one for schools and the Department of Education. We are now focusing on the lessons learned from the first schemes in order to assist schools considering conversion.”
