Alcohol licence granted for Westminster petrol station
Thu 10 Dec 2009
Winckworth Sherwood today successfully argued before the Westminster Licensing Sub Committee for the grant of a licence to sell alcohol and provide late night refreshment at a petrol station on Grosvenor Road, Westminster.
The application was opposed initially by the police and the Envionmental Health Consultation team but, after much consultation, officers agreed to a set of conditions that determines how the licensable activities will be managed.
Local residents and a local councillor attended the hearing to oppose the application.
Partner, Robert Botkai, who represented the owner of the petrol station, Snax 24 Limited, commented: "This was an excellent outcome given the level of opposition to the application. The consultation with the responsible authorities was successful and the Sub Committee then had to be persuaded that the grant of the licence would not be contrary to the licensing objectives."
