Commercial Agency – Severance of compensation and indemnity clauses

​The Commercial Agents (Council Directive) Regulations 1993 governs the relationship between principals and their commercial agents, including giving certain rights to agents on the termination of a commercial agency. Safe Harbor sinks in the Atlantic

Data protection hit the headlines once again recently when the European Court of Justice delivered a landmark decision in the case of Maximilian Schrems v Data Protection Commissioner. The Court struck down the “Safe Harbor” data transfer agreement between the EEA and the US declaring it invalid. Although not entirely unexpected, the judgment has serious implications for businesses with transatlantic interests or personal data flows.
