Winckworth Sherwood continues to deliver a strong performance

Wed 11 May 2016

Winckworth Sherwood today announced a 12% increase in revenue to £37 million. The firm continues to outpace its competitors and has grown 10% per annum for the last three years.

Winckworth Sherwood attributes this growth to the continued success of its client base and the firm’s commitment to delivering exceptional service and investment in both people and infrastructure.

In the past year alone, the firm completed 4200 residential sales transactions worth over £1.5 billion for residential developers. The firm also acted for L&Q on the £800m Purfleet regeneration scheme and its £150m regeneration of Wandsworth Town Centre. The newly expanded corporate team worked with Life Science client Atnahs to increase their growing drug portfolio to over £20m EBITDA and advised Hive Energy on a number of renewable disposals with a total power capacity of 200MW –enough to power over 1.3m homes.

The growth has attracted some of the best legal talent in the UK. During the financial year they secured six lateral hires. The recent recruits from Fasken Martineau strengthened the firm’s corporate and commercial offering and brought expertise in Lifesciences, Natural Resources and Manufacturing.

As well as attracting new talent to the firm, Winckworth Sherwood also continues to invest in the development of its own people. Two of the newest Partners, Tim Snaith (2016) and Sabrina Cader (2015), both completed their training at Winckworth Sherwood and have remained with the firm throughout their careers.

Roger Fitton, Managing Partner of the firm, said: “Putting clients’ requirements first drive the business. We continually review the range and depth of our services both to anticipate and respond to change. We invest in the best talent and in our infrastructure to improve efficiency and drive growth.”

He continued:  “We have acquired another floor at Minerva House to accommodate our increasing numbers and we are confident that our strong financial base and exceptional talent will ensure we continue to deliver an outstanding service to our clients as their requirements continue to grow.”
