Local Giving and Winckworth Sherwood

Localgiving and Winckworth Sherwood LLP began working together in January 2015.

Winckworth Sherwood has had an active CSR programme for over 6 years. Liaising with Localgiving has provided another channel through which Winckworth Sherwood can engage with local charities and provide targeted and timely support to the causes they care about - now and into the future.

Below are just three projects that Winckworth Sherwood has supported through Localgiving, to date.

Hestia - Winckworth Sherwood was introduced to Hestia in May 2015 through Localgiving’s business partnerships service.   Hestia is a London based charity, one of over 150 on Localgiving, that focusses on a range of social issues from domestic abuse to anti-trafficking.

The two organisations have developed a close, dynamic relationship. Winckworth Sherwood staff conduct regular, mock interviews for Hestia’s service users, have been involved in several innovative fundraising activities and provide Hestia with office spaces for meetings.

The Bike Project

Winckworth Sherwood provides sponsored Localgiving membership to Southwark based charity, the Bike Project.  The Bike Project receives donations of second-hand bikes, fixes them up, and donates them to refugees.

As a member of Localgiving, The Bike Project is included in regular incentivised giving campaigns. These campaigns help charities and community groups to engage new potential donors, as well as to reinvigorate existing supporters. Localgiving members also have access to skills workshops, webinars and other online resources.

Jem Stein, Founder and Director of The Bike Project has said “We are really grateful to Winckworth - Sherwood for supporting us”. We look forward to working with them in the future”.

Giving Tuesday

Winckworth Sherwood endorsed and promoted Localgiving’s #GiveMe5 campaign on Giving Tuesday 2015.  This included displaying web banners and helping to promote the campaign on all social media platforms.

Charlotte Cook, Partner and Head of CSR committee for Winckworth Sherwood LLP, is really positive about the firm’s collaboration with Localgiving so far:  “Localgiving has helped the firm connect with more Southwark based charities. This has enabled us to strengthen one of our core CSR aims: to work in partnership with our local community”.
