A pub in Crawley is facing a full licence review hearing after it was closed following a serious public disturbance.
Seven people were arrested for public order offences at the Rose and Crown in West Green following an incident on Saturday, reports the Argus.
Sussex Police responded by issuing a closure order - a move which was supported by Crawley magistrates on Monday.
Crawley Borough Council will now schedule a full licence review hearing for the Rose and Crown, but the pub will not be able to trade again until that has taken place.
Meanwhile, the owners of The Angel pub in Grenoside, Sheffield are waiting on the outcome of a licence review after being issued with a closure order in November, reports the Star.
South Yorkshire Police subsequently provided licensing officials at Sheffield City Council with a 239-page dossier detailing a succession of incidents at The Angel, including a 60-person brawl, complaints about noise and people drinking in the street outside the pub.
