About Charlie

Charlie specialises in property development and regeneration projects for private and public sector housing providers. He provides clients with advice and guidance on all aspects of site assembly, land acquisition, onward disposals and lettings for residential and mixed use schemes. He has particular experience in advising housing associations on development and other property-related transactions, including consortium agreements, funding and grant agreements, local authority nomination agreements and joint ventures.

His background in commercial property means he also advises private and public sector clients on a variety of commercial property transactions, acting for both landlords and occupiers.

Recent Experience

  • London & Quadrant on the purchase and development of Wandsworth Exchange comprising over 200 apartments, commercial space and a new library for Wandsworth Council.
  • Clarion Housing Group on the site assembly and acquisition of an 18 acre site in Hardwick, Cambridgeshire and its development for over 150 residential units in joint venture with Hill.
  • Durkan on its procurement as Southwark Council’s development partner for the mixed use development of two sites, including negotiation of development agreement, overage provisions, leases and funding arrangements.
  • Notting Hill Genesis on the acquisition of buildings in Victoria, Central London from Land Securities for conversion into 88 affordable housing units.
  • Sovereign on its acquisition of Princes Mead shopping centre and adjacent retail assets in Farnborough for redevelopment for over 350 apartments and new commercial space.
  • Peabody on the sale of a building in Earls Court to facilitate the conversion of an adjacent building for new affordable stock, including the negotiation of a neighbourly agreement with the buyer to regulate the conduct of each party’s building works.
