Ellie graduated from King's College, Cambridge in 2003 with a degree in Classics. She went on to complete two years at Guildford College of Law. After taking up a training contract with Dawsons LLP in September 2005, Ellie qualified in September 2007.
Ellie acts for both employers and employees and has experience of contentious and non-contentious matters. She regularly gives advice to employees regarding redundancy, breaches of contract, compromise agreements and discrimination issues and is also experienced in advising employers in relation to employment documentation, capability issues, restructuring and redundancy exercises and dismissal procedures.
Recent experience
- Advising a City law firm in connection with a race and religion discrimination claim brought by a former assistant and successfully negotiating settlement.
- Advising a City law firm in connection with a sex discrimination claim brought by a former Partner and successfully negotiating settlement.
- Successfully acting for an estate agent in his claim of unfair dismissal following his redundancy from a leading national estate agent.
- Advising a major national estate agent in connection with ongoing employment issues ranging from disciplinary and grievance issues, compulsory pay cuts, TUPE transfer issues following a merger with another estate agent and large-scale redundancy exercises.
- Advising a partnership regarding the employment issues arising from the sale of a garden open to the public to a third party no longer intending to operate it as a business.
