Louise graduated from Somerville College, Oxford in 2004 with a degree in Law. She then went on to complete the Legal Practice Course at the College of Law, London, Louise qualified as a solicitor in 2008 having previously worked as a trainee for one year in Employment.
Louise has gained experience working for both employers and employees on contentious and non-contentious matters. Louise advises on various employment issues including restructuring and redundancy situations, compromise agreements, contracts of employment, grievance and disciplinary issues, and has acted for a number of claimants and respondents in unfair dismissal and discrimination Employment Tribunal claims.
Recent experience
- Obtaining a strike out of a race discrimination claim brought by an employee against a named individual respondent and a costs order against the employee for bringing the claim;
- Successfully defending claims brought by an employee for sex discrimination, victimisation and unfair dismissal involving a complex factual matrix and obtaining a restrictive reporting order;
- Acting for an employee in relation to the successful appeal against his dismissal which resulted in his reinstatement;
- Advising employees and employers in respect of disciplinary and grievance issues and drafting documentation for each stage of the process;
- Successfully negotiating favourable settlements in relation to unfair dismissal, sex discrimination, age discrimination and disability discrimination claims for a number of clients across a wide range of sectors.
