Anjana is a solicitor in the planning team and acts for a number of developers including housebuilders and housing associations. Anjana advises on all aspects of planning law and specialises in negotiating Section 106 agreements, preparing cases for public inquiry and drafting and reviewing planning applications. Anjana's experience of working in local authority and knowledge of the public sector is very useful in negotiating agreements with local authorities.

Recent experience

  • Negotiating and drafting Section 106 agreements on behalf of housebuilder clients for a number of developments including large residential developments, mixed scheme proposals, urban regeneration projects and a large London-Wide Initiative scheme.
  • Acting for Barratt Homes in relation to the Section 106 Agreement for the last phase of a joint scheme between the Council, the LDA and Barratt to deliver a major residential led mixed use scheme comprising nearly 1000 new homes plus retail units and a £14m landmark public library within the Canada Water Basin next to Canada Water tube. This also involved reviewing the Scoping Report and Environmental Statement for the Environmental Impact Assessment.
  • Acting for Bellway Homes in relation to a unilateral undertaking for the redevelopment of a site in Tower Hamlets to provide 214 residential units including affordable housing, a community centre, public open space incorporating a public square with designated children's playspace and a sports pitch for the local community.
  • Representing Hanover Housing Association in a stopping up inquiry in relation to an Extra Care scheme in Brighton.
  • Acting on behalf of Paddington Churches Housing Association and Crisis in respect of a planning inquiry relating to the major brownfield development of a hospital site in London to provide a 100% Affordable Homes scheme including a 23 storey tower containing 270 units with additional community space to be a vertical "urban village", a further 100 units and a new hospital, primary care centre, church and retail space.
