Audrey McFarlane
Position: Solicitor
Audrey works in the Housing and Regeneration Department and has acted for a range of housing associations, local authorities, care providers and other not-for-profit organisations, both charitable and non-charitable.
Audrey has advised on a number of legal issues throughout her career and her experience includes acting for both housing associations and local authorities in large scale voluntary transfers, dealing with constitutional issues and care contracts, site acquisitions and disposals, shared ownership and other residential leases, advice and advocacy relating to housing litigation and drafting and advising on tenancy agreements, development and ancilliary agreements, planning and nomination agreements and charging titles for security portfolios.
Audrey now specialises in the property aspects of loan security for housing associations and has extensive experience on all property aspects of funding deals; in particular the charging and refinancing of large scale property portfolios.
Recent experience
Acting for a wide range of housing associations, charging property within security trustee arrangements, including:
- developing streamlined ways of dealing with property portfolios
- negotiating forms of certificate of title
- title investigation
- advising on mortgagee exclusion clauses
- title rectification, including dealing with defective leases
- advising on and negotiating conditions precedent items
