Recent experience
Darren has worked in the Oxford office of the firm for over two years alongside John Rees. During this time he has assisted with the Diocese of Oxford’s project for registration of ecclesiastical land (glebe, corporate, parsonage, educational and other trust property), and attended and assisted at consistory courts, the Court of Arches (the Church of England’s Appeal Court) and clergy discipline tribunals. He has also assisted in:
- The preparation of reports for the bishop relating to clergy discipline
- Resolution of land disputes
- Consecration and other matters relating to church land
- PCC constitutional issues
- Property issues and admission appeals relating to Church of England schools
- Residential conveyancing
- Shared ownership transactions/social housing
He continues to develop his practice in relation to these areas.
Personal interests
Darren is interested in classical and Ecclesiastical history, choral music, fishing and Irish whiskey.
