Ed advises a number of organisations on all aspects of their property portfolio together with any related vires issues, for those in the public sector. Ed also has experience of dealing with licensing applications.

He advises law enforcement agencies and public bodies on all aspects of the Proceeds of Crime Act. He has lectured on provisions of the Act to officers of most of the UK's law enforcement agencies. Ed combines his areas of expertise when advising on the property aspects of investigations or lecturing on property law to investigators.

Recent experience

  • Recently instructed by a law enforcement agency on the taking of leases for the construction and taking of premises and dealt with specific security and user clause provisions as well as the standard commercial property issues.
  • Experience in dealing with issues of vires in relation to property matters conducted by law enforcement agencies.
  • Regularly instructed by a law enforcement agency on cash detention and forfeiture.
  • Instructed by a Home Office Police Force to deal with a matter under Proceeds of Crime Act (POCA) which could not be dealt with in-house.
  • Appearing on behalf of applicants for premises licences and personal licences
