Eleanor Gilbert

Eleanor graduated from Newcastle University with a degree in Law in 2005 and completed the Legal Practice Course in 2006. She trained at Weightmans LLP (London office) and qualified in the employment team in 2008.

Eleanor represents employees and employers in both contentious and non-contentious matters. She has experience in advising on redundancy situations, grievances, disciplinary issues, employment contracts, policy documentation, and sickness management issues. Eleanor regularly advises on Employment Tribunal litigation including claims for unfair dismissal and discrimination.

Recent experience

  • Acting for a large public body in the successful appeal against findings of discrimination;
  • Advising employees in relation to severance packages and compromise agreements and obtaining favourable amendments to the Agreements;
  • Acting for employers and employees in a variety of sex, disability, race, religion and age discrimination claims;
  • Successfully acting for an NDPB in a multi party action concerning complex contractual issues of pension entitlements and constructive unfair dismissal.
