Jason Dowler
Position: Legal Assistant
Jason is part of the Property Dispute Resolution Team. He advises on property disputes for a variety of Registered Social Landlords, public bodies and charitable organisations, including a number of ecclesiastical institutions. He advises on social housing and residential and commercial landlord and tenant issues and disputes including breaches of tenancy/leases, recovery of rent and service charge arrears, forfeiture, anti social behaviour and nuisance claims. He has also dealt with many actions against trespassers/squatters including seeking interim possession orders where required and often involving development sites or multiple parties.
Recent experience
- Acting for a RSL in a fully defended possession claim based on a long history of the tenant's nuisance and anti social behaviour
- Instruction from an RSL on development site to secure possession of a number of units in multiple occupation by trespassers and advising on bulk claim to reduce costs
- Assisting with acting for a RSL in a complex defended dispute with a commercial tenant requiring an injunction to restrain unauthorised works and subsequent forfeiture of a long lease
- Assisting with a claim for possession of commercial premises based on rent arrears and the landlord's intention to refurbish and redevelop the property
- Acting for and providing advice to an ecclesiastical institution on forfeiture of a business lease following the tenant's bankruptcy and dealing with recovery of rent and other debts
