Paul is an ecclesiastical and property lawyer with more than two decades of experience. He has acted in a number of high profile cases concerning clergy discipline and the employment status of the clergy. Experienced in the fields of commercial property and development, landlord and tenant, charities, race and sex discrimination, employment law and the law relating to historic buildings, he also specialises in complex commercial and development transactions involving Church land.

He is head of the firm's ecclesiastical and charities department in London, which acts for several Church of England dioceses and provides a full range of legal services at diocesan and parish level. He is also the Registrar and Bishops Legal Secretary of the Dioceses of London and Southwark; solicitor, Southwark Diocesan Board of Finance, St Luke's Hospital for the Clergy, London Diocesan Fund; chapter clerk Southwark Cathedral.

  • Acting in complex redevelopment transactions involving sites of church property and the conversion and redeployment of former church buildings
