Robert joined Winckworth Sherwood as Tax Consultant in April 2011 and provides a range of taxation services to our clients on a consultancy basis.
Robert is a tax lawyer who has gained wide experience with leading London firms with established tax reputations. Immediately before establishing his own practice Robert was a corporate tax partner for over 15 years with the London based international law firm, Simmons & Simmons. His practice was distinctive in that it embraced both corporate and high net worth individual clients - both UK and non-UK domiciled. Specialties include:
- Estate planning including wills, trusts and powers of attorney
- UK tax issues relevant to non UK domiciliaries
- Advice on UK direct and indirect taxation
- Operational support for UK taxpayers
- Cross border and domestic mergers, acquisitions, disposals and joint ventures
- Structuring UK property transactions including the tax issues relevant to their financing
Recent experience
- assisting families and individuals organise their affairs, including their wills and trusts to ensure their affairs are left in a way that works for future generations;
- helping non domiciled clients who need assistance on the UK's remittance basis of taxation;
