Sam is a Partner in the Housing and Regeneration Team. Sam acts for a number of the UK’s leading housing associations and national house builders and other private development companies and advises on all aspects of property development work including site assembly and acquisition, Development Agreements, Infrastructure Agreements, Joint Venture Agreements, Planning including Section 106 Agreements, Nominations Agreements.
Sam’s focus on large scale regeneration projects has involved advising housing associations on joint venture arrangements for land acquisitions and disposals, keyworker schemes. He also regularly works for house builders complex development projects including acquisition, development (refurbishment and new build), overage and option provisions and conditional contracts.
Sam also has a practice specialising in acting for management companies in setting up and drafting management documentation for development sites including lease structuring and in acting for investment companies in the acquisition of freehold reversions.
Recent experience
- Advised on acquisition of development sites and Section 106 dwellings for several RSLs including a recent £100 million scheme in Elephant and Castle
- Advised on pre-bid documentation for a major town centre regeneration project in the Thames Gateway
- Advising on a £400 million town centre and shopping complex regeneration project in East London to provide commercial and residential units
- Acquisitions of large portfolios of freehold reversions for the UK's top portfolio management companies
